Brittiläisen The Overtones -yhtyeen laulaja Timmy Matley on kuollut 36-vuotiaana. Yhtye vahvisti asian Twitterissä.
Matleyllä todettiin pahalaatuinen ihosyöpä vuonna 2016. Kuolinsyytä ei ole vahvistettu. Matleyn managerin mukaan hän menehtyi ”äkillisesti maanantaina”.
Viidestä laulajasta koostuva The Owertones julkaisi esikoisalbumin Good Ol´Fashioned Love vuonna 2011. Levy nousi myyntilistojen kärkeen ja myi platinaa.Yhtyeen viidestä albumista neljä on noussut Britannian albumilistan top-10:een.
The Owertones on käynyt esiintymässä Suomessa. Yhtye oli yksi Espoon Barona Areenalla järjestetyn Plan Jäägaalan pääesiintyjistä huhtikuussa 2012.
