Suuri gaalatilaisuus järjestetään New Yorkissa 7.4.
Ilman Rock And Roll Hall of Fame -paikkaa jäivät Janet Jackson (toistamiseen), Jane’s Addition, Chic, The Cars, J. Geils Band, Depeche Mode ja Kraftwerk.
Myös räppäri Tupac Shakurin ehdokkuus on herättänyt valitusta, kuten oli viime vuonna N.W.A:n suhteen. Shakurin perikunta on kuitenkin asiasta innoissaan;

Kyllähän moni tosiaan ihmettelee Tupacin valintaa , kun tiedetään että esim. Motörhead , Iron Maiden tai Bon Jovi eivät ole kyseistä kunniaa saaneet. Ovat kuitenkin suht merkittäviä Rockyhtyeitä.
